Docs changing colour

When I go into my files, I notice that patches of docs are now in a blue
colour instead of the usual black. I have not touched anything to make it
go blue, and there is no pattern to what has been chosen to be coloured.

Can anyone explain it - and tell me how to get everything back to the normal
black colour?

Its nothing to worry about, the blue ones have been compressed as they have
not been accessed in a while, this is an automatic feature

Hmmmm - time I started cleaning out then! I have heaps of blue messages!

Thanks Steve. Funny thing its only happened on my big pc, and most of the
same stuff is on my laptop as well.

Steve, some of my family history program is half in blue too - how does one
explain that?

I'm not Steve, but the files probably haven't been accessed in a while.
This is nothing to worry about - expend your energy elsewhere. If the
file compression bothers you, disable the automatic compression or
don't display the blue color. See the last two items in this MS
Knowledge Base article for instructions:

Thanks Steve, but I still couldnt find out (or understand) - how to
decompress files. It does bother me. Its not consistant, There are
files much older which are not compressed. I never touched anything to make
the compression enabled.

But thanks anyway

Once again, see this Knowledge Base article for information about
compressed files, how to use them (they will decompress automagically
when you use them), how to disable compression, how to disable the blue
color:
