Hi
I have a question, I have windows xp prof installed in my pc. I activated it when i bought it. The cd it came with has a service pack 1 built in it. My question now is.... I NEED to reformat my entire computer yet again :(. Since my windows xp is now activated, Do i have to Deactivate it in order to reinstall it and be able to use my Product code key again? Im afraid if i dont deactivate it that it wont let me get windows back up because that product key has already been activated. If i need to deactivate it, can someone tell me how to do that

Thank you so much in advance :

Hi,

As you are reinstalling to the same system, you will simply need to
reactivate. There is no need to deactivate first, you will just activate the
installation the same as you did the first time around.

Greetings --

There is no "unregistration" or "de-activation" process, as such.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. If it's been more
than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:
