Do I have mailbox limitation here?

Hello,

Need some explaination here, if I am an user using abc.com. When I send a
message to (e-mail address removed) and I received the following notification. My
question is, does it mean that

1. my mailbox is exceeded storage allocation? or
2. (e-mail address removed) mailbox is exceeded storage allocation?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

(e-mail address removed) on 8/10/2004 11:42 AM

The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a
specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact
your system administrator.

<relay.abc.com #5.0.0 smtp;552 Requested mail action aborted: exceeded
storage allocation>

Thanks neo, but why the relay is from abc.com and not from mydomain.com?

<relay.abc.com #5.0.0 smtp;552 Requested mail action aborted: exceeded

two possibilities...

1) relay.abc.com is the box that is trying to delivery the message to
mydomain.com. during the transaction, the other server reported a 552.
relay.abc.com attaches it's possible human readable/understanable reasoning
and returns the message.

2) relay.abc.com is out of diskspace and can't accept the message. in this
case, relay.abc.com is like an edge or internet mail gateway for
ISP/corporation. since it can't accept the message and get it ready for
queing to the next host, if fails the acceptance with a 552.

I went (original) #2 and #1 above because I assumed you didn't have any
troubles sending mail elsewhere and it was isolated to just the one site.

Here is a rough reasoning on what a 552 could be.

a.. Numeric Code: 5.5.2

Possible Cause: This refers to a general protocol error when SMTP protocols
are out of sequence. For example, an SMTP protocol error occurs when AUTH is
tried before EHLO. In one observation, this occurred when the system was
experiencing an out of disk condition.

For what its worth, every mail server product handles things differently.
All we can say for certain is that the weak spot is between relay.abc.com
and the accepting mail server for mydomain.com.
