DNS/Server "Operation Aborted"

When I go into certain sites I get a message advising
that Explorer cannot open the site and the operation is
aborted. Sometimes I can hit the back button and the
site will load. Most times I can see the site behind the
error message. How do I get this to stop??

This is being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
