When trying to reach a website such as yahoo, i am
redirected to a page called "internet optimizer" and at
the top of this page reads " help/navigation error-dns
error" i am unable to get to any regular site! this has
become very frustrating and i haven't been able to find
help anywhere else on this site. thank you so much.

If you had used Google Group search you would have found your answer
already.

The best spyware removal tools are Ad-Aware available from
http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ or
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ and SpyBot available from
http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/ and update the reference files
through their Online update function. Run them and select all items and
remove.
You may have to reboot and rerun a couple of times to completely remove it.
Also run the Immunize function to
prevent these nasties from installing again.

Install a good HOSTS file.
Blocking Ads, Parasites, and Hijackers with a Hosts File.
