dma problem

Dear all,

I had a DVD-ROM worked fine dma 2 at secondary IDE master
before. I added a DVD-writer as sec. master and changed
the dvd-rom to sec. slave, I found that the dvd-rom now
only run at PIO mode even i selected "use DMA if
available" when the dvd-writer still work fine in dma 2.

What's the problem? How can i solve it?

Put DVD-ROM onto primary channel or remove it at all.

Check the settings in your BIOS to make sure you don't have to
reconfigure things. Also, as Jetro said, you may just want to sell the
DVD-ROM or something and only keep the DVD Burner. You are never going
to want to copy a DVD on the fly, so there is no real point in having
both in the computer unless you plan on watching 2 DVD's at once or
something
