That would be TSA cavity search. Since melding into the Department of
Homeland Security back in 2003, we get security grunts that are now
untrained fed cops. Takes over 2 years to train an FBI agent
(http://www.ehow.com/how_7859241_train-become-fbi-special-agent.html).
Takes nothing for a TSA grunt. Any boob can apply for a TSA job. The
now wants guns rather than have to call in real police or fed agents.

Just don't get carrying one of these in your suitcase at the airport.
I am pretty sure if they find one of these in your suitcase it will
get you a NSA cavity search.

Just for the record, that isn't a very practical implementation.
I won't be packing that one in my suitcase.

It should really be using modulated infrared light and synchronous detection
(so only "AC light" is used for detection and "DC light" is ignored).
That makes it less sensitive to ambient light conditions.

A better solution, is one of these. I have a few of these,
and when I set one up in the basement, it actually triggered
when a mouse went by :)

I'm using inexpensive wireless motion sensors. Flexible and works
great. The sensor requires little electricity since the detector
is ultralow current and its transmitter requires only a single
pulse.
