i am facing problems in dividing a month into 5 weeks and then showing
production of different sections of a factory in each week and also in each
week there are 2 main companies who have placed orders.
so in each week i need to show that how much all sections have produced
components for each individual compnay...
NOTE...these companies are stored in table in a combo box under the name unit.
from this query i ve to make a report also.
i ll b much obliged if u can guide me.
regards.

How are you handling the situation where there are only 3 workdays in the
first or last day of the week? Do you roll all these days in with the
previous month, roll the last couple of days of the pervious month into the
new month, or just have partial weeks for those weeks?

It would be helpful if you could give us the structure of your table.

Thanx alot for considering my request. To Fix the problems of working days i
have dividwd a week into 6 days.So all weeks have 6 days n out of 6 only 1
day i.e SUNDAY is off.n the 5th week has 7 days.
hope this simplifies my concern.

.... meaning that each month has 35 days (four six-day weeks, one
seven-day week, and four Sundays off...!? or do you simply count "a
month" as 31 work days, disregarding the calendar?

I'm sorry, I simply don't understand your logic. Could you show what
five weeks constitute February, 2007 (which started on a Thursday and
lasts 28 days)?

@Mr. John W. Vinson
No no that is not the case.we have only 1 day i.e SUNDAY of at the
organization.my first 5 weeks consist of total 6 days out of which only 1 day
i.e sunday is off.so in first 5 weeks there are total of 24 days out of which
20 are working.i considered a week of 6 days to fix the problem of february.
So my 5th week starts on 25th of a month. So if its february it goes till 28
or 29(in case of a leap year) otherwise my 5th week goes till 31st or 30th of
a month.i hope i have made my problem clear.

No, you have not, at least not to me.

Please post a little grid showing the week number for each date in
February:

2/1 1
2/2 1
2/3 1
and so on.

Pardon me, but I think the solution to this almost has to involve a table to
specify which week a date belongs to.

Open the Query in design view. On the View menu item select View...
SQL, or - equivalently - use the leftmost tool in the query design
toolbar and select SQL. Copy and paste the SQL text (which is the
*real* query, the query grid is just a tool to build SQL) into a
message here.
