Distribution lists in Outlook 2003?

I want to create a distribution list from a list of email addresses in the
body of an email. I don't want to have to add each to my contact list, I
only want to import the entire list of email addresses into a distribution
list in bulk, at one time. How can I do this?

Russ:

No, this is not what I need because this method still looks in the address
book or contact list to verify each address. I'm trying to insert a
different list of email addresses that I don't need to add to my contact list
or address book. I'm trying to avoid adding 150 email contacts manually.

So you are saying you want to create and store this Distribution List other
than in your Contacts Folder?
That is not possible of course.

Outlook data can only be stored in an Outlook data file.
Maybe I'm not understanding your question.

Well, I guess I don't understand all the functionality of Outlook. I want to
send a newsletter and thought I could use Outlook rather than subscribing to
a newsletter site like Topica and subject my recipients to ads. I want to
send a newsletter using my own client and I wasn't sure if I could do this
with Outlook. Do you have a recommendation for how I might do this?

I already answered that question. You create a distribution list using the
instructions I posted. Clarify why that does not work for you.

I already clarified that, I don't want to add everyone on my list to my
contact list. I just want to be able to copy and paste a list of email
addresses into a distribution list and go with it. I don't want to add each
address to my contact list.

If those addresses are contained in the body and separated by semicolons,
you can select them as a string, copy the selection, and paste into a DL
that you create with New>Distribution List. Click "Select Members" and
paste your prior selection into the Members field. Click Save and Close.

Just read the instructions again. That's exactly what they tell you how to
do.
