Distribution List Still there, but contacts within aren't? Help!

Hi. My distribution lists are still in my contacts folder, but the contacts
that were within the distribution lists aren't.
When creating a new email, Outlook still has the contact memory addresses
(don't know what that's *really* called - sorry), so I know the addresses are
still in my computer somewhere - but where??
Thanks!

Could you provide the rest of the story? I suspect you transferred or
migrated your data at some point, which will corrupt a DL when done
incorrectly.
There will still be an entry for the DL in your autocompletion cache, but
you will not be able to access it directly without third party software. Why
not use autocompletion to recall the list and create a new one from the data
in the To: field?

Great suggestion, though do you know of any way in which the addy's can be
broken down? My Dist Lists total to (very roughly) about 500 addresses. Is
there some secret Jedi Mind Trick that will work to seperate them? I've tried
to copy/paste to Excel though all addys go into one cell. Ugh. Other
thoughts/suggestions? Oh, incidentally, I haven't transferred or migrated my
data at all.
Thank you SO much for your help and earlier response!

If the DL is still in your autocompletion cache, open a new message window,
type the name of the DL in the To and tab out of the To field. The DL
should underline. Click the plus sign to its left, which will expand it.
You'll need to answer Right-click in the To field and choose Select All.
Press Ctrl-C to copy the selection.

Start creating a new DL and click Select Members. Click in the Members
field and press Ctrl-V to paste the list you copied before.
