my DL no longer works, error message saying it is "no longer a valid address
book entry...object could not be found. name or distribution list deleted".
However, it exists in contacts and address book.

any hints about restoring it so i can use in bcc.

DL's are not robust and become corrupted very easily. Restore it from your
most recent backup.

I have the same exact error "no longer a valid address
book entry...object could not be found. name or distribution list deleted".
I have tried verifying all the e-mail addresses, verifying all the contacts
and even deleted the entire DL and recreated it from scratch using the
'select members' buton and picking the contacts out of my Outlook addresses.
I still get the same error. I have 54 contacts on my DL. I tried a test DL
with two names & have no problem. I have another DL with 17 names & no such
problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

State the detailed steps you used to produce the problem. There is no
information here.

I have tried verifying all the e-mail addresses, verifying all the contacts
and even deleted the entire DL and recreated it from scratch using the
'select members' buton and picking the contacts out of my Outlook addresses.

I've done the same and still have the error too.
However - I am tracking it down a little bit.

1) create a new short DL - works fine
2) recreate the original list - fails
3) recreate the original list under a different name - works
4) delete the original list - the deleted list STILL shows as an
option if I start typing its name -

So the first answer is - use a different name
(though the old name will continue to pop up incorrectly and will
fail).

The next answer is for me to find if list names are cached in some
way. I thought perhaps it was referencing a different PST file (though
I don't see to have one).

Do you get the same result as I did above?

Okay, to delete the auto-complete for an address that no longer
exists,
type the first few letters till you see the name, select the name,
click "delete".

Now the non-existent distribution list is no longer in the auto-
complete.

You can recreate the distribution list and it should work... did for
me :)
