I created several distribution lists with email addresses not found in my
contacts. When I select new from the address book it gives me the option to
create this in contacts. For the existing entries how do I get them into
contacts without recreating them?

Thanks in advance.

First, never add contacts from the Address Book view. Add them in the
Contacts folder.

If you have members in Distribution Lists that you want added to Contacts, one
way is to save the DL as a text file, which creates a tab-separated values
file. You can edit this file in Notepad to remove the first few header lines,
then import the file into your Contacts folder with File>Import and
Export>Import from another program or file, choosing "Tab separated values
(Windows)" as the import type.
