Displaying Powerpoint-Files in web browser-control without MS PowerPointinstalled

Stefan Weisenbach

Hi there,

I am currently working on a project to display powerpoint presentations
inside a .NET application. As I understand there is no such thing as a
ole control which can embed powerpoint files.

After searching the web I found a usable way by using a web browser
control to display powerpoint documents. However, this only works if
powerpoint is also installed. I tried it with the freely available
powerpoint viewer, but with this viewer I can't get the web browser
control to display the documents. it always starts the external viewer :-(

Does anyone know of a way to display powerpoint presentation within a
web browser control if ms office is not installed?? The installation of
the free viewer would be ok, but I need the documents to be displayed
within the web browser control.

Thanx for your feedback.

Stefan,

When you know how to do it with IE, is it probably easy to do in the
webbrowser, why not ask this in a powerpoint or IE newsgroup. The webbrowser
is only reusing that you know.

Just a thought,

Cor
