1. The Desktop tab does not appear in the Display Properties dialog box in
Windows XP

Line 285 Right hand side - restore display tabs.

3. Or you could try:
Start>Run, and type:
regsvr32 /i shell32

Pressing OK after each line (or hit Enter)
Reboot the computer.
