Display all messages?

Is there a way in Outlook 2002 to display all messages from all folders in
one list? We have managed to end up with duplicate messages in multiple
folders, and the best way to clear them out would be to see all messages
together in one list sorted by subject or author. I can do that where I
work with Lotus Notes, and I hope I can do that with Outlook, but I haven't
found it.

Thanks,

Jack

I don't think that's possible.

Well, I hope you are wrong, because that would really be helpful. So, if I
want to find a message by say, John Smith, do I have to search/sort by name
in each folder separately?

It is possible in Outlook 2003 with Search Folders, but those aren't in OL
2002, I don't believe.

Doesn't Outlook 2002 have Find button on the toolbar that gives you a Look
for bar where you can drop down the Search In field to do Choose Folders?
That's where you could do a search for all messages from John Smith. (If
it's not there, I *know* there's an Advanced Find somewhere in the program,
I just don't have it handy to find it. I'd check Help for Advanced Find to
track it down if I were you.)

And yes, it really is helpful to have this sort of functionality, which is
probably why Search Folders were a very welcome new feature in Outlook 2003.
It'd be nice if all the new features could be added to old releases, but
that's not usually very viable.

Thanks. That reminds me that Advanced Find will search across folders
(although not across PSTs) and tell you in which folders the objects of the
search reside.
