dismantaled file after burning to DVD

After I burned the movie to a DVD, only 1 time, the movie no longer was in
the editting format I created originally. I could not fix minor problems
like, transitions, words, etc. to burn a final copy. How can I save the movie
file to continue editting the movie after burning it to a DVD for initial
viewing? Is it possibe?

No too sure what you're asking?

Once you're done editing and you are ready to make your movie,

1) FILE>SAVE MOVIE FILE will make (render) your movie.
2) FILE>SAVE PROJECT AS will save your work in a MSWMM file that you name
and select where to store on your hard drive. If you want to further edit
your project;
3) FILE>OPEN PROJECT and browse to the MSWMM project file and you can
continue on where you left off.

Is that what you're asking?

Like Noteky said.
In a little different terms:
If you want to save the project for further editing click the floppy disk
icon on the toolbar or click File -> Save Project
This will create a MSWMM file which is your project file and the file used
by Movie Maker. Open that with WMM and you can edit the movie more.

Clicking "Save to my computer" or "File -> Save Movie File" or pressing
CTRL+P will render your project as a video and that video can still be
edited in Movie Maker as far as adding more to it but the transitions,
overlays, effects etc... that were applied can't be changed.
