diskeeper 8 operation question

A

Aaron Epstein

I have just installed Diskeeper 8 on my system with Windows XP operating
system.

Is there a method whereby I can instruct Diskeeper to defrag all of the
drives on my hard drive with one instruction, so I do not have to wait for
one drive to defragment in order to instruct that the next drive be
defragmented.

I have attempted to check off, or highlight all of the drives, but without
success.

best, Aaron

Not that I have Diskeeper, but have you checked the command line options?

@drian.

Are you using a downloaded trial version or a store bought
CD?

If the trial version, you need to purchase the rights, when
you register with the activation code, such operations are
unlocked. [That's the way it works with DK Lite 7, anyway]

Use the Set it and Forget it option. Set the Set it and
Forget it priority to High. Then set it to screensaver
mode. Or you can leave the priority alone and set it
defrag in the background. I use those options and never
have to manualy defrag my drives.

Hi Aaron -

Diskeeper 8.0 Professional Edition can run on up to 4 disks
simultaneously. (Other editions support different numbers of
concurrent operations--see the table in the Help system.) You still
would need to select each drive individually, then click the
Derfagment button for each.

You could also use the command line option and write a script to run
them, but that's really more trouble than necessary. As "anonymous"
mentioned, you can simply set a Set It and Forget It schedule for each
of your drives, and then forget about it. With scheduled operation
(especially if you use Smart Scheduling) there's no need to worry
about running them all at the same time.

If you have any other questions about Diskeeper, feel free to drop a
line to our Tech Support folks at (e-mail address removed).

I hope this helps -
