Disk or Network Error - When updating dB ??

W

Will

I posted this earlier but had the popup message wrong... so here goes
again...

- We have an old computer with Access 2000 on it.

- We have a simple single table Access 2003 database on another computer on
a Peer-to-Peer network.

- We call that computer the "Network Drive" as it has most of our files on
it.

- We have a single user entering new records in the database from the old
computer.

- Ocassionally when she finishes entering data into a record and tries to go
to the next new record she gets a popup message... and the new record won't
get added to the data base.

- The popup message reads "Disk or Network Error"

- We have to quit and restart Access on the old computer... and she has to
re-enter the new record.

- No user is using the dB at the time.

If anyone has a clue about what this may be let me know. It is driving us
nuts!

Thanks for the help

This is almost certainly an intermittent hardware problem. Such as a
loose cable or something similar. On the network card on the back of
the PC there should be a green light indicating network connectivity.
Keep any eye on that light although that could be quite difficult.
Also try wiggling the various connectors and such.
