Disk Drive Info Not Displayed Correctly in Computer Management

Hello Discussion Group I Have a Problem!

My Primary Master disk drive is being shown on Disk 1 and my Secondary
Master disk drive is being shown on Drive 0. However in the BIOS info at
startup it is being shown correctly.
PM System
PS DVD/CD-ROM
SM Pagefile and 37gb unallocated storage
SS Archival records, Back-up files, ...etc,...
In Computer Management:
SM Disk 0
SS Disk 1
PM Disk 2

I've checked cabling all is good. all drives are cable selected. (Hmmm...,
maybe I should used the jumpers for slave or master rather then CS...not)

No earth shattering fault but I would like to get it to read correctly. How?
Any suggestions?

If your PM is shown as other than C drive then attempting a change will
cause all manor of problems, primarily in relation to file locations in the
registry.
However this may not be what you are saying.

DL, thanks for the response.

(IDE Primary and IDE Secondary not SATA)

I may have phrased it wrong. My PM Disc drive is being shown as [Drive C:/ ]
and it should be displayed in Computer Management as Disc 0 and not Disc 2. I
am under the assumption that the Primary Master Drive will always be Disc 0,
Secondary Master Drive will always be Disc 1, and Secondary Slave Drive will
always be Disc 2. Are my assumptions correct? If so, then Windows is not
counting HDD correctly. And if it is counting correctly, then I am wrong.

Currently, the CD Rom Drive D:/ is displayed as CD-ROM 0, which is correct.
