Hello,
I am a windows xp home user seeking to defragment my disk drive BEFORE
windows has loaded. Does anyone know how I might go about this?
Excess Background Info: I tried defragmenting my drive both in the command
line and by running the programme by itself, but found that in both cases
nothing was occuring. After disabling Norton Antivirus (the problem is not
space on my drive, I have over 10 gigabytes free, and my drive is now 55%
fragmented), I found that my drive went from 60% fragmented to 55%
fragmented, so I did something right; however, when I went to run checkdisk
in the command line, it said that the drive was in use and I could schedule
it to run before windows started on the next cycle. An interesting blue
command line came up on my next restart; I wanted to try running defrag in
that way, but I can't figure out how. I'd appreciate if you could help me
out. Thanks,
Victor Salmon
