In an answer to my question of how to fix Disk Cleanup freezes, Plato gave me
two Microsoft articles. One article says to delete everything in the Temp
folder. When I try to do this I get promts telling me that they are system
files and may
cause damage if deleted. Shall I delete them anyway?

The other srticle says to go regedit. Step six says "delete the Compress
old files registry key". Does that mean to delete the folder with that name?

It gives me ""Desktop is a system file. If you remove it your computer may
not work correctly." Desktop is in the Content IE5 folder and is file type
Configuation Settings and opens with notepad. I don't know if there are
others because when I say no to deleting Desktp the deleting process stops.

Some folks install software to their temp folder. Again, it shouldnt be
there. IT's often necessary to clean out temp folders to fix problems.
You dont want anything valuable there.
