Disk Cleanup Querry

Disk Cleanup on my Windows Xp Home Edition computer says that there are 0 KB
temporary files to delete even though there are 745 files in my "Local
Settings\temp" folder and 245 in my "Windows\temp" folder. I used to think
this was because files undeleted were important in some way or in use by
other programs and are not to be deleted and so I tolerated it. However,
when I run Disk Cleanup, these files, and any I manually place in these
folders do not get deleted. Why is this so? Is this normal? Is there some
type of configuration I must setup to have Disk Cleanup delete the temp
files? I have been having this problem since I got my computer new so this
rules out a virus.

Also I would like to know where the "WebClient/Publisher" cache and the
"Indexing Service" files are located on my computer.

Thanks:
Nikki

I have found that (MS)Disk Cleanup will sometimes find and delete files
which (Steven Gould)Cleanup! misses and even this sometimes leaves files
which are obviously temporary files. I guess it's better than nothing but,
given that every single computer is unique, it's not an exact science but
something is better than nothing!
