disk cleanup is gone from start up menu

This is how I made it happen on Windows Vista. I picked up (click on and
drag) the disk clean from list on start up and wanted to put it up to the top
of the menu. The menu closed and here I was holding the disk clean up under
my pointer the only choice I had was to drop it on my desk top. Then I went
back to start up and drop it where I wanted it at the top of start menu. Then
the short cut that was on my desk top I delete it. When going back to disk
cleanup after a disk clean up was preformed. I no longer can do a disk
cleanup from the one that is top of my menu. I can find it by typing in tools
and using it from the performance information tools only (typing in disk
clean up I get nothing now in the search from start). I delete the none
working one from my menu now. I like to know how I can put disk clean up
back on my start menu????? I know how from there to put it on the top of
menu without using pick up and drag now ......lol big problem that caused it
to start with.

Next time it does something like that, hit Escape before releasing the
mouse button. That will cancel the drag operation.

I like to know how I can put disk clean up
back on my start menu?????

Right-click start button, 'explore' (or 'open', but I prefer to have
the folder tree so I have a better visual indication of where I'm
doing something).

Open 'Programs' (or any subfolder thereof), right-click -> New ->
Shortcut, enter 'cleanmgr.exe' for the location.

Entering the full path is not necessary, but it's in windows\system32
in case you wanted to know.

Click Next -> in the next step you can enter any description you like,
but keeping the original name (Disk Cleanup) may not be a bad idea ;)

My problem is disk cleanup is no longer in my start menu. You can do a search
for disk or disk cleanup or disk clean and it doesnt show no more in start
menu. Missy

Thank you very much for your help. I created and pinned it on top of menu
now. It is working great. ;) Plus about heads up on the hitting Escape. Missy

Huh? "mikeyhsd" told you where to find it.
Once you do find it, right-click, choose "Pin to
Start Menu".

Question:
I like to know how I can put disk clean up
back on my start menu?

Answer:
Just copy it from the start menu.

Sounds difficult to me. If it was still there she wouldn't need to
put it back ;)

You're misinterpreting the 'Answer' that was given.
For those who are computer-challenged, I can make the steps
into baby steps:
Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, right-click on
Disk Cleanup, Pin to Start Menu.
