Disk Cleanup - Exits For No Reason !

Hello,I Start disk cleanup utility on windows xp computer and while it is
searching In:

Scanning: compress old files

It exits at this point for no reason by itself, Can anyone tell me what is
wrong? This happpens on C: Drive, It works ok with no problems On My D: Drive
