Disc read error problem after installing windows xp

N

navyseal2009

I recently bought a SATA 250GB western digital hard drive to replace
one of my two 40 GB hard drives. So I set the 40GB drive to master
with the intention of making the C Drive 40GB and the 250GB SATA to
Slave using a SATA to IDE(the only hard drive type my motherboard will
support) connector. I got to the part in the instillation in windows
XP where after it finishes copying its file to your hard drive and
gives you 15 sec to reboot. After rebooting it reads a disc read error
has occurred press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot. Data loss is not a problem
because I already deleted the info (including Windows XP) on the 40GB
drive and the 250GB is brand new.
I tried at one point or another to make either or the master or slave
or just one hard drive by itself and nothing seems to work. Please
Help

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APRECIATED

The adapters might be available-SATA to IDE,but really, youre wasting youre
time.SATA and/or RAID needs to be attached to thier controllers, connecting
them to a IDE controller isnt going to cut it...You can buy SATA/RAID PCI
slot add on controllers for about 35.00 retail....
