Disc Cleanup

Disc Cleanup doesn't work. The window opens, and it
appears ready to calculate, but nothing happens. Can I
repair it or reinstall it? If reinstall is the way to
go, where do I do it from?

When you run the Disk Cleanup utility, the program may stop responding
(hang) while scanning for compressed files.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when there is an incorrect entry in the registry that is
used by the Disk Cleanup utility to locate compressed files..

came to this sight to find an answer for???? Any luck or
