disappearing windows

Pete

I'm running Windows XP Home on a 1.8Hz Laptop with a
touch pad. When I have more than one window open and I
move the cursor one of the windows is minimised. This
doesn't happen all the time but is very frequent. Also
sometimes when I start another program and the window
opens it immediately closes if I try to move into it.
However, if I use Alt + Tab I can move the cursor into it.

I've run a anon destructive system recovery but this
doesn't seem to have any effect.

Hi Pete,

TweakUI/General/Focus

Prevent Programs from Stealing Focus - Undo (Line 66)

When a window that does not have focus is updated by its program, the
default setting prevents it from becoming the foremost (top) window,
instead, it flashes in the taskbar.

HeldUp is the easiest way to stop windows from disappearing behind other
programs. http://www.johnmacintyre.ca/HeldUp.asp
