disappearing incoming emails not to be found in any folder

i see the email enter my inbox and remain their for appx 5 seconds before
disappearing to be lost forever - not found in any folder such as delete,
spam, junk, etc.

i have disabled spam filters / i have put test emails on the friendly lists,
i believe they disappear when a rely to an email that i have sent, yet other
email accounts can reply to me with no problem - it happens with multiple
email addresses

i have had the experience verified by computer savvy coworkers

Advice?

Using any rules?

Checked the view defined for the folder?

Hi John,

I am having the exact same problem with my Outlook 2003. I also have
disabled my spam filters, etc. and reloaded Outlook, but nothing has made a
difference. It is very odd - I can get several emails fine from a person adn
then one of their will do the disappearing act. Have you found a solution yet?

A rule might send an incoming message to the Deleted Items folder, but I
don't believe it deletes it from the Deleted Item folder afterwards. We're
not finding these incoming messages anywhere including the Deleted Item
folder.

I am having the exact same problem and can't find the reason either. The
thing is that it doesn't just delete out of my outlook, if I go onto the
server to look in the hotmail or yahoo account online, it has also deleted it
out of there. I have got to get this fixed!!

Anyone found a solution?

This is happening to me also. I've only noticed it in the last couple of
days and can't imagine what caused it or how to fix it.

I've read the other posts in this thread and nothing has stopped the
problem. I'm losing email that's very important and I'm late deafened, making
email all the more crucial to me.

If anyone out there has found a solution, please help!

Thanks.

I was having a similar problem. For me the answer was the McAfee Spamkiller
that came with the computer. I was looking at my personsal folders in
Outlook 2003 and I discovered a subsidiary folder called Spamkiller that was
"underneath" the Inbox folder. The Inbox folder was marked with a "+", when
clicked on the new folder exposed appeared to have my missing messages. You
can direct McAfee not to move messages into this folder and just mark them
"SPAM" and leave them in the Inbox.

I moved an email to a folder and the inbox emptied. I am not using filters.
The advanced toolbar is set to "Messages". Inbox is emptied but the Sent
folder messages are all there. I notice a .ost file with my email address of
349mb, but I don't work offline. My email account is set to mapi so when I
try to change anything, there is no "More Settings" button.
