Disabling that "helpful" search "feature"

Even when I check the "do not search from the address bar"
radio button in my Internet Options, the version of IE I
am saddled with at work (6.0.2800.1106) insists on
bouncing me to iget.net, instead of displaying a nice,
normal "page cannot be displayed" page, when I enter an
invalid URL (something that happens often since part of my
job is to check for dead links.) This wouldn't be so bad
but the iget.net url it goes to (
www.ignkeywords.com/keyword/keyword.asp.ix?
pid=38&v=6.0&rs&0&keyword=~dhm
) has an instant redirect to the Overture Domain Lander
page at
http://xml.overture.com/d/search/p/igetnet/html/domainlande
r/ -
basically what this means is that I cannot now use
my "back" button to go back to where I was, I have to
fiddle with that annoying little arrow select dropdown
thingy (I think everyone who puts an instant refresh in a
meta tag ought to be shot, but that's just my opinion!)

What I want to know IS: How can I disable this wonderful
Feature that Uncle Billy has given to his children to make
life So Much Easier for them?

Thank you in advance for your help - I hope there really
is an answer to this (other than switching to some other
browser, that is!)
