Disabling auto alphabetical order sort in start / program files

I just installed Vista, Something really does bug me:
I'm using classic start menu
there is an automatic alphabetical order sorting in start / programs/ menu
Even if I put the folders in the order I like, it will auto sort out again.
Is there a way to disable this so that I can put my menu like I use to have
it?

Right-click the Start button and click Properties. You can pick between
the new Vista style or the older style, and you can customize either one
of them. The new style has a checkbox for Sort by Name.

Right click Start Orb, Properties, Start Menu tab, Customize button, scroll down
to deselect Sort All Programs menu by name

Yes, but this option only appear on the vista style start menu. there is no
such option when using the classic start menu. Is there any registry key I
can modify to do the trick?

Perhaps (just guessing) if you set the sort in Vista style, then switch to
Classic?
