Disabled XP local Admin account

When adding my XP workstation to a 2000 SBS domain, the
Admin account for the XP Pro workstation was disabled
automatcily when I joined the domain.... I could log into
the domain admin account but not the local admin account.

Both accounts had the same user ID and password but it
would only allow a logon when the domain was selected in
the options box and not the local PC...

Logged on as the Domain Admin I was able to remove the PC
from the domain and place myself back on the workgoup but
the return to the workgroup did not re-enable my local
Admin Account... now I am on the workgroup, I have no
Admin account to logon with.

Will enabling the admin account as stated here with a safe
mode boot help me?

It is worth a try, if the account is the default Administrator
account (even if renamed).
It sounds like there has been some customization to the
SBS2k such as it applying a Restricted Group definition
for the local Administrators group on machines joined to
to the domain. It is also possible that the account was
renamed using the policy to rename the built-in admin
account again from a GPO. In any case, you may be able
to best figure what you are dealing with if you understand
how it is set up in the SBS2k domain.
