disable Novell logon service for a User

Hello,

I don't know if this is possible or not but here it goes. I have two users
that use a computer running Windows XP Pro. One user logs on to the Novell
network during the day. The other users comes in after and logs in as a
window users. There are two accounts on this machine. How do i stop the
novell login service or program from being used or launched on that second
users?

Thanks,
Jay

I'm presuming you're using Novell's client software - isn't there an option
for "workstation only" ?

Jay,

My experience is with Novell Client 4.91, but I believe the login interface
has been mostly the same for some while. On the login screen, by default
there should be a check box for Workstation Only login. Leaving it unchecked
allows the Novell network user to login to the network (and to the local
Windows workstation..with single transparent logins, in fact, IF the IDs and
PWs are in synch). Putting a check in the Workstation Only box bypasses the
Novell network login. You'll have to educate the users to check or not based
on their specific needs.

If the Workstation Only box is not present in the login screen, you have to
login as Admin, launch the Novell Client Properties (found in the context
menu when right-clicking the red N in the system tray), select Advanced Login
tab, then change Workstation Only to On. Again, navigation may vary from one
version to another of Novell Client.

Hope this helps.
