directx xp sims2 help!!

While installing sims2 windows logo testing denies to install directx 9c on
my computer. I've tried changing catroot2 in cmd (error 126), and many other
things but YOU are my last resort! Nvidia geforce 4 are now updated. What can
I do?

Why is sims2 installing directx 9c,go to microsoft.com,downloads,then install
it yourself.

Look for "When installing an update you receive the following message:
"Software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing""

Otherwise follow the Windows Update Checklist:

Also install DX9C per steps 2 - 5 on this link:

Do not install DX9C from the game CD.
