WinXP updated to sp2.
I've messed around extensively with the drives/partitions and disks on
my machine using partition magic and Ghost9. At this point I'm not
really sure what all I might have done.
The machine has 2 sata drives and 1 IDE (all masters)
I'm now attempting a clean install from scratch onto the IDE And have
accomplished that plus all updates ... including sp2.
The IDE drive with current new install is partitioned into C:\ and D:\
Both are NTFS.
Drive D:\ contains a very lot of pictures, video footage and other
general stuff from video editing and will not allow me to access the
directories on it.
It appears in `My Computer' as D:\ clicking on the D opens the drive
and displays the directories. However any attempt to open a directory
results in a message saying `D:\some_dir is inaccessable'.
I'm logged into an administrative account.
Partition Magic displays the drive with no errors.
Windows displays the drive in explorer with no errors.
Right click/properties on one of the directories shows attributes to
be `read only'.
I notice this drive has 2 directories named System Volume Information
One has a long string of numbers/letters after its name in parens.
One is inaccessable like the other directories on that drive and one
can be accessed. The accessable one has the long string of
letters/numbers after its name. And has directorires under it with
names like RP0 RP1 RP2 RP3. Each has a changelog.1 and restorepoint
file under it.
What can I do to access those inaccessable files?
