Can someone please help me?
I cannot run Americas Army because I only have directx
8.1. I get an error message that says I need 8.1b or
higher. When I install 8.1b (2000) it comes up with the
same eror message. I tried to install 9.0 but it will
not install as it says the product is not logo signed??
I am very confused, can someone please please help me out.

Thanks

Hello, This may help. I'm using W2K, XPHome & XPPro on serveral PC's.
I went to the DirectX Site and downloaded DX 9.0b SDK (software
developement kit)...( I'm not a developer), and I have no issues with
installs or gaming on any OS. I have although, never had an issue
installing any version of DirectX, last one being DX 8.1 I then saved
the DX9.0b installer setup in a archive folder.

It is important however, that for todays games you need good graphics
and audio cards, audio media play is becoming more important and
causing issues in Direct Play among other things. I like ATI's Radeon
Video Cards and Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audio Cards.

A suggestion, test your DX, goto your directx folder and click the
blue and yellow setup icon and run, or, simpler yet, goto start/run
and type dxdiag and run that to check your hardware and or see if
there are problems existing.

Good luck, ernzan
