Direct X 9.0c won't install completely

Adam Spencer

I downloaded Direct X last night and tried to install it
on my Win XP sp1 system and the download went fine and
then I clicked on install and it extracted files fine but
when it went to install it installed like half the files
and then it error out saying this:

*quote*
The software you are installing has no passed Windows Logo
testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP (tell
me why this testing is important)

This software will not be installed. Contact your system
administrator.
*/quote*

Next error box says:
*quote*
Direct X didn't copy a required file. Installation
Failed
*/quote*

On now I am the only account on this system and I do have
admin rights. Then it gets better. Now it says this
every 20 seconds:
*quote*
Window file protection:
Files that are required for windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain
system stability windows must restore the original
versions of these files.

Insert your Window XP Home Edition CD-ROM now.
*/quote*

and when I do that it tells me that it's not the right
disk, what the fork man... how do I get around this I mean
I can continue working like normal with the little window
saying the window file protection thing, I just move to
the lower portion of the desktop. But it's annoying for it
to be there

Thanks in advance

PS I turn off all anti virus when I update windows
drivers. I am going to try to install it in safe mode and
see if it still happens I will report back
