direct 3d devices

Please can someone help ?
I have just tried to run LOTR (return of the king)
but i get a error message that says : could not find
compatible direct 3d device with the required
capabilities.

please help

Check to see if your video card is listed as "compatible" with the game. If
it should be compatible, install the latest drivers for it.
