what is the best all around soft ware for enhancing photos ? I am new to the
digital camera world and need something easy to work with but would like
something that removes red eye, enhances and maybe adds shadow to picture
borders. Thank you

This will keep you busy for a while. You can then purchase:
Microsoft Image Suite 2006
or
Adobe PhotoShop Elements 3

The Microsoft software is easier to learn and use.

Well Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 is good for cataloging and overall
photo ehancements. But if you want to get into advanced stuff and lots of
extra abilities I would recommend Adobe Photoshop CS or the newer version
CS2. You might be able to find the older version for less cost wish... But
this program is the king of the editing software. Just doesn't catalog or
anything...
