Digital Image Suite Edition 2006 - Installation Problems

G

Guest

I am having problems installing the full suite (Studio and Library). When I
go through the installation process I get the following error message "Error
1606. Could not access network location INSTALLDIR. Retry or Cancel.
Sometimes I can retry and am able to install the Studio application only, but
not the library.

I tried the installation on another, older computer and it goes through the
full installation fine.

I would like to use this program on my newer/faster PC.

Many thanks.

Thanks John. Accessed your link. I am running Windows XP Home so I could
not activate the sharing to the extent that the article recommended.

The sharing for my computer had already been enabled. I disabled sharing,
and re-enabled it - giving a different share name. Still no luck. Any more
suggestions?

My other computer is running XP professional, with sharing enabled, so that
would explain why the program installed ok there.

I don't understand why the Digital Image needs to access a network directory?

Many thanks,

Sharon

No luck......

Thanks John for your assistance . I have learned a few things on the way,
so all was not in vain. I was thinking of giving up - but cannot resist the
challenge.

I'll post my problem with support - thanks for the links - makes it much
easier to navigate my way there.

After reading many previous posts, it seems like you are the "man" - I
appreciate your "volunteered" time.

When I get this problem fixed, I'll post my results/solution onto this forum.
