Digital Camera Downloader

I am looking for a freeware alternative to Breeze System's downloader at
<http://www.breezesys.com/Downloader/index.htm>

I have the freeware version of this program that works with my Canon A10, but
only the Pro version works with my A70.

It is an excellent program, but registration is $30. I can get a card reader
for half that price.

Why don't you? It's a much better way of downloading than via the
camera

I have a card reader and the Breeze program, but I'm not using any of those
anymore. I find it much easier to download via "Irfanview" which uses the
Canon's TWAIN driver.

Irfanview: "File > Acquire".
From here, the camera software takes over.

If you run a UN*X system, you might want to have a look on gphoto:
http://www.gphoto.org/

This will not run on Windows.
