Great news but only if you connect your camera by way of
an USB port. I have a Sony Digital Camcorder and it
connects by way of an USB port and all I have to do is
hook it up and configure the camera through the program
I'm using it on. But yes, just hook your camera up as if
you were downloading video to your movie maker program,
but go to the program you want to use the video camera
on. Be sure that if your camera has an auto shut off when
your not recording or touching any buttons that you put a
tape in it and start it recording. I know you don't want
to watch the playback of it, but the camera may need you
to do that to keep the auto shut off feature from turning
your camera off. Most cameras have this feature.
