Difficulty in Posting Here

At work we are using IE6 on our PCs and on my Mac I have a choice between
Safari or Firefox.

When trying to post here from ANY of the above browsers I am receiving a
variety of error messages ranging from Sorry the system is unavailable to
some strange one about there being a circular issue??

Basically I have to hit the reply or new question button repeatedly (20-30x
or MORE) until the correct interface appears and then I have to cross my
fingers that the entry actually goes through!

Is anyone else encountering problems or should I look internally to see if
it is some kind of firewall issue.

We don't have anything blocked (that I'm aware of) and I have no issues
posting to other types of newsgroups/forums.

.....and I just was able to post both the original question and this response
using my home computer (Firefox 3.x).

Very odd

THANK YOU Echo!!

I'm reading it through Google Groups now and it is working
perfectly.

This is going to be SO much easier now.

Still not sure why I am having so many issues posting through the web
interface from work though??

Hmmm... now my gmail addy will be published too, need to figure out
how to fix that!

Christine

Ugh. I hate the web interface. It's sometimes so persnickity.

How about accessing the groups via NNTP and a newsreader instead of the web
interface? Are you game for that?

I'm not crazy about Google Groups personally, but if it works for you,
great!

Here's some other ideas: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00275.htm Outlook Express
newsreader comes installed in WinXP, and Windows Mail is installed on Vista.
And if you click that first link on that page ("If you use Outlook Express
or another program that can read newsgroups click here," it should set up
this group for you in OE or WM. Newsreaders aren't as pretty as the web
interfaces like Google Groups and the MS forums, but I think they're much
easier to navigate.

Well as compared to trying to send something 30+ times it is
wonderful. :)

I talked to our Mac tech...we both agree that the PC issues are
probably due to it being IE6, but we have some ideas about the Mac
issues. It may or may not be fixable.

Thanks for the link and info...I will research it a bit more when I
get a moment!
