Difference in processor speed labels?

Under "System Properties" in Control Panel it shows I have a AMD Athlon
1.09GHz processor. However, my DxDiag shows my proc at 1.1GHz?? Why the
difference and which one do I trust for accuracy?

AMD XP2500+ / 1gig RAM / Win XP Pro

Doh! (sigh) yup.....
I'd be looking into why I cannot achieve faster than either 1.09 or
1.10GHz when using an AMD XP2500+-- unless the mobo is not designed to
handle its potential. If you are using a mobo designed for that cpu, you
may have its fsb and/or its multiplier set incorrectly. Wouldn't it be nice
to find that out and then be able to utilize its potential--all because you
had momentarily forgotten (to apply) your '3rd grade math'? HTH, & good
luck, & Merry Christmas! s

It isn't a question of math. It's that this processor/motherboard has
processor speed-stepping enabled. If this is a desktop machine and
speed-stepping is not desired, then the OP should go into the BIOS and
disable the speed-stepping option

No need to worry.
