Dialup Problems with XP

Having problems with dial-up.... I deleted an old ISP dialup, but when I
create a new account for to dial-up, everything looks fine. Until I click
on IE and try to dial up the internet. The old account is still listed with
old username and password. I can't get rid of the old one no matter how
many times I delete it and create a new one. Any help appreciated.

Did you go to Control Panel \ Networks and cancel your old ISP as the
default? (right-click option)

Yea, I did more than that. I deleted the one I no longer needed. There is
only one left and it is the default one. But when I try to log on to the
ISP, the old one come back up to be dialed. I can't figure it out.

Actually the old and the new account are the same, but I can't get rid of
the old password. The password from the old account keeps showing up on the
new one, even though I use the new one and log on to the ISP and tell it to
save password as I'm about to log on. But when I try to log on the second
time, the old Password shows up on the new account. Hope that explains the
issue better.

You might try inserting your new password in IE.
Tools \internet options \ connections\ settings
Okay your way out.

I think I've determined that it's not using the old connection and password.
It's listing the password twice, together. In other words, let's say my
password is 8 characters. The password is listed as 16 characters,
consisting of the same password repeated twice. It's weird!

Don't know if you're getting confused with XP's masking of
passwords. All passwords are masked to a fixed length
(which might be 16 characters) even if it's only a 5 digit
password. This is an attempt to stop people looking over
your shoulder and trying to guess passwords.

All NT-based password fields will show 16 asterisks regardless of the length
of the password. It's a security feature that prevents one from guessing
the password based on length.
