news.microsoft.com

I have a horrible problem in windows XP corperate and on my laptop at home
winxp home edition. They doth have the same problem. When I look in Network
Neighborhood my dialup connection i set up is gone and if i try to make a
new one with the same name it says it already exists. I have the desktop
icon it created and I can dialup with it but I cannot see the connection in
the taskbar or in Network Neighborhood so I cannot disconnect without
shutting down my pc. I am at service Pack level 1.
Please help.

Hi,

To help you disconnect, go to Network, right click the connection you
use and choose create direct access. It will tell you it cannot create
it there and ask you if you want it on the desktop, answer yes.

This will create a direct access of your connection on your desktop,
when you want to disconnect, just click on it and do so.

Good luck

work :(
