Hi -- I need help!
Windows XP Pro, all latest service packs and updates. I
get a 720 error when trying to connect over dial-up
networking. Have searched many hours online and tried
numerous KB et. al. suggestions like:
1) Resetting the protocol stack; (netsh ip reset...)
2) Various registry settings, etc.
3) Creating and recreating Dial-up connections.
4) Looking for WanMiniPort problems in Hardware setup.
Also, I don't have a restore point far enough back to fix
the problem, and I haven't tried the "repair" option on
installation (I'd rather not!)
I suspect the following error messages in the event log has
(on boot-up) are related:
IP could not open the registry key for adapter
TCPIP\Parameters\Adapters\NDISWANIP. Interfaces on this
adapter will not be initialized. (error 4191)
Unable to load C:\WINDOWS\System32\iprtrmgr.dll. (error
20103 -- I suspect this is because it couldn't find the reg
entries)
The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with
service-specific error 2 (0x2). (error 7024)
Any help would be ***greatly*** appreciated!!!!
Thanks,
Steve.
