Dialogue Bubbles

How do I stop these dialogue information bubbles coming up? When I connect
to Internet for instance I have a dialogue bubble come up telling me my
modem has connected and it stays around for about five to ten seconds.
There's also one that pops up when I close down PC appearing over the close
choice button box. I don't mind the info that pops up when cursor is
hovered over an icon etc., but, these other ones are a nuisance.

Get TweakUIXP from here...

...and I think the setting you want is under>General>Enable Tooltip
Animation (uncheck.)

While just looking through my folders I came across in my Unzipped Folder
xp-AntiSpy.exe which my mate must have put in there when he installed XP for
me. I wasn't sure what it was so double clicked it and there were loads of
check boxes on the applications single page for enabling or disabling
various XP services and features mainly for security reasons. One thing was
a box to disable bubble pop ups like the ones I wanted to stop. Have
checked it and they don't appear any more...hooray!
