Dialogue Box "Select Skin File"

(first of all I apologize if this is appearing twice)

Just recently, everytime I start up IE 6 or switch from one web site to
another, I get a popup dialogue box asking me to "select skin file". I
don't know what a skin file is or how to select such a file. Nothing I
click on in the dialogue box seems to work. Is this a virus? Should I try a
system restore? Anyone ever heard of this? Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem start on or about the same date. I searched the
knowledge base and came up with nothing. While reading another post titled
'New Add-In for Internet Explorer 6, XP....." I read something that spoke of
skins and toolbars. So on a hunch I went to View/Toolbars and saw that a
freeware product I have running calendar and time updates from NIST also
installs a toolbar by Viewpoint when it updates. Well it recently sent an
update. I unchecked the Viewpoint toolbar, relocked the toolbar and started
up another browser and no more Select a Skin dialogue box. I don't know if
this will solve your problem, but I would suggest starting with your tollbars
and see if anything looks amiss and then trying unchecking each one to see if
this solves the problem. I may have just got lucky.

Good Luck-

had the same issue -- tried spyware scan etc... here is what seemed to work
(saw it posted on a previous entry)
Suggestions and checkpoints:

Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove - uninstall Viewpoint Toolbar

and/or:

IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced - uncheck Enable third-party browser
extensions

Ok I got it to clear up ! I typed in "Rundll32
Iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs" It all had to do with the
spacing....Hope this helps some people like me. Have an awesome day!
