DHCP server service not autostarting....

R

Rialb

Has anyone encountered this problem before? I have many dhcp servers,
but two in particular do not automatically start this service after a
reboot. The only relevent items I can find in the system log are these:

Event ID: 1054
The DHCP/BINL service on this computer is shutting down. See the
previous event log messages for reasons.

and...

Event ID: 1050
The DHCP/BINL service on the local machine encountered a network error.
The error was: 0x 271d.

I've googled myself silly.

Thanks,
Blair

Hi Blair,

Sorry for the delay in posting this response. I'm by no means an expext on
DHCP and I could be incorrect, but here's what I think the error code 0x
271d in Event ID 1050 means.

# for hex 0x271d / decimal 10013 :
WSAEACCES
# An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden
# by its access permissions.

So if you are still experiencing this problem, try implementing the
workaround in the following article to see if it resolves your issue:

195445 PRB: RAW Socket Access Denied to Non-Admin Windows NT 4.0 and Windows
