DHCP problems and more!

I am running windows XP pro with file and print sharing (TCP/IP)

I have a ADSL Router (Running DHCP with a start address range of 10.0.0.3 to
10.0.0.14)
File Server Running XP Pro
A 10/100 HUB
3 Workstations (XP Pro)


My problems is I have added another workstation to this network but for love
nor money I cannot get the freaking thing to connect to the network
correctly.

All the other PC's already on the network connect fine to the DHCP, they get
their IP addresses (10.0.0.x) and manage to route their internet traffic via
the router, (which has its own port on the HUB) like well behaved PC's
should do!

I added a new PC. and it decided it wants to have its own IP address, that
is nothing like 10.0.0.x, and says it cant find the internet. I then
manually assign an IP address to this PC (10.0.0.6) which is not assigned by
the DHCP to anything else. This PC can then see the file shares and all the
other PC's on the network BUT still will not connect to the internet via the
router.

Any ideas? I am about to take a sledge hammer to this non conforming PC!

Double check your default gateway and subnet mask.

Confirm that the IP configuration is set to obtain the address automatically.

Open a DOS prompt and type:

Ipconfig /release ENTER

Ipconfig /renew ENTER

This should request an IP address from the DHCP server
